Long Weekend

I had the pleasure of a 3 day weekend and I do mean pleasure. Friday night, the whole family went to the tennis center for Ash to play a practice match w/ a friend. E took to his soccer ball along and found a few kids out there to knock it around with. I had the pleasure of running into my dear friend T who was there to pick up her daughter from drills and we talked for about 30 minutes while the kids played. We don't get to see each other very often these days due to our crazy schedules so any time we can steal away for conversation is good time.

Saturday morning the maids showed up at 9:30 to clean so the family and I headed off to Denny's for breakfast and to get out of their hair. I didn't eat because at 11am I was meeting a group of Phi's for lunch at Razoo's in Irving and was looking forward to a good meal there! DH took the kids on some errands and then to the tennis center for Ash's doubles tournament (they won 2nd place). I had lunch with 5 of my lovely sisters and a few of their spouses and kids. MSC had come for a visit from AZ so we had the perfect excuse to "gather". Unfortunately, I had scheduled a pedi weeks before we planned this lunch so I couldn't stay for very long before I had to jet back to SLake for my pedi. Not that I regret the pedi one bit - just the timing. I had a few hours after the spa to enjoy my clean house before we were off for church. My parents were too sick to go so we sat in an entirely different area of the church and decided we all liked the new perspective from the other side! After church, we picked up fast food, dropped the kids off at the house and went to the movies. This was our first date night where we let Ash babysit. We were not gone long but when we came home, they were in their pj's, curled up in the chair together watching Disney! So I had a clean house, lunch w/ my Phi's, a pedicure, church and a date with my DH all in the same day. Damn that is what I call a good day!!!!

Sunday, I lounged a bit and then hit the stores with the kids to try and find Ash some shoes and a slip for Cotillion that afternoon. Mom bought the dress and we forgot she needed white or silver shoes to complete the outfit. After running to Kohls, Famous Footwear and Target, the necessary items were acquired and all was right with the world. DH had to attend the last 30 minutes of Cotillion to learn to Waltz with Ash. They will be dancing together at the Grand Ball on March 6th and I will be there to cry. I spent Sunday evening getting all the pics from the past month uploaded to the computer, the memory cards cleaned up and batteries charged on both cameras. I'm taking the little Casio to Vegas but wanted the Cannon ready for all the upcoming events when we return.

Monday was a day off for me as our office was closed in recognition of President's Day. Ash had school so it was just me and E for the day. We played Wii all morning and then went to meet my mom and grandmother for lunch. That evening I got caught up on some work for Dad's company and had squeezed in a little time for scrapbooking. I got three new pages done in E's book. I am desperately trying to not get more than a year behind in either of the kids books so getting any pages done is an accomplishment.

All in all, I have to say that it was a great weekend. I got so much done and had so much fun. I also scattered in about 10 loads of laundry so everyone had clean clothes for the next few weeks and everything the dog has peed on in the past week is now cleaned and sanitized (she is having bladder control issues in her old age and just pees wherever she darn well pleases. I'm trying to be a patient and loving mother to her but she is not making things easy. She has ruined the cushion off my wicker couch and a few rugs. My Little Green Clean machine has seen better days and my master bathroom smells like urine). But I still have to say....it was a great weekend.
