Another weekend in the dust

My how time flies when I'm having fun. Did I have fun this weekend? Heck yeah! I had a blast yesterday at Celebrate ! Dallas with my friends. We scrapped, talked, smuggled Coca Cola products, ate really good mexican food, attended a good class, looked at some great ideas, and even found time to shop for more scrapbook stuff on the way home!! It was a really fun day. We did have one fallen scapper though - one friend caught the stomach bug from her baby boy and woke up too sick to join us on Saturday. We were all bummed for her but brought her home the goodie bag and some other fun stuff so she wouldn't feel like she missed out on it all.

One of my kids didn't fare such a fun weekend. A started her weekend off poorly - by throwing up in my mom's car as they pulled out of school. She didn't have any other symptoms at the time, just an upset stomach. I went to Mom's after work to get the kids and she chose to stay with her grandmother because: 1) I wasn't going to be home Saturday; and, 2) let's face it, my mom is a much better care giver than I'll ever be. Even I want to be at her house when I'm sick so I do not blame my daughter a bit for feeling the same way. Mom called later to say A had thrown up one more time but she seemed to feel better after that.

Hubby took care of E on Saturday and even picked up A after lunch so he had both kids all day. I'm sure they all enjoyed watching LSU win. That is always a source of fun in our house - a good LSU game on national television. I knew better than to call too often from my scrap outing because he'd be too involved in the game to talk to me. When I got home Sat. night, the kids were asleep, the kitchen was clean and he'd made one incredible peach cobbler for dessert. What a dream day for me....scrapping and peach cobbler.

A didn't feel well again today but her stomach is settled. She complained she was dizzy so I'm guessing now that in addition to some stomach bug, she has a middle ear infection. My buddy Dr. T suggested Sudafed to clear the fluid out. So we started that this afternoon and she said it did make her feel better but now she's lying in her room trying to sleep in between coughing fits. I have a feeling my euphoria from yesterday will wear off soon because I can hear her coughing thru the bedroom wall! Oh well, it was time to come back down to earth anyway. At least, I had some more peach cobbler to provide some happiness to my evening!

Tomorrow is the start of another week....................
